I'm a cowboy!

Howdy Pardners!

So the National Western Stock Show is in town, and we went to "see cows". There were a lot of them there, for sure. I wasn't too interested in the cows, to be honest. - The goose was kind of fun, but my favorite was this big sandbox filled with corn and beans.

I also got to ride on an amusement-park 'tain' (train) - now, that was fun. And then they had this cheesy photographer.....

Papa's friend "stein" (Oystein) was in town this weekend. I didn't see him all that much because they went "skiing" without me. Papa's told me that maybe I get to go next year.

Grandma Babe showed up unexpectedly yesterday, and I think she'll be here for a while. Supposedly my baby sister is threatening to arrive early, so Babe is hanging out with me so Mama can get some rest. I like Babe, but it's a little strange that Mama won't chase me around, so I've been on edge - I'm sure it'll pass.

I've started kicking balls around, and occasionally string 4-5 words together in a sentence "Papa watch tain ideo pease" (Dad, can I please watch the Thomas the train video). Three words is more the norm, really - and you're just going to have to trust that I do this at home, because I almost never show off my speaking skills for others.

That's about all for now - I'll keep you posted.

Love, D.

Dear Daniel,
Your cousin Leo and I went to see some animals the other day....he liked the goats the best. They reminded him about the story of the the 3 billy goats crossing the bridge with the troll underneath. Do you know that story? You could remind your dad and then maybe he will play it with you. And by the way I think you will enjoy being a BIG BROTHER!!! Please say hello to Babe from us! love from farmor

Eric in a cowboy hat is just too cute. As a new father I now have pictures of my Yankee father in the same attire - to be posted soon!
